Moderating "Talk Back, Look Forward" Panel at McLean Community Center

It kind of blows my mind that I get to moderate this amazing discussion with this lineup of changemakers (Virginia Ali, Courtland Cox, Rev. Dr. Sandra Butler-Truesdale, Roger Ross Williams, and Samaria Rice) in support of McLean Community Center’s current virtual reality experience, “Traveling While Black.”

DMV folks, I hope you’ll come out on Friday night, February 4th at 7:30pm. For more info/to register: https://lnkd.in/dsPKNnZV

Joining TCG as Director of Marketing

I’m excited to share that I’ve joined the team at Theatre Communications Group (TCG) as their new Director of Marketing.

After 8.5 formative years at Americans for the Arts, I began 2022 on this new adventure towards a just and thriving theatre ecology.

More to come! The work continues.

INTERVIEW: The Reckoning and KuchuQwanzaa

So very grateful to CNP (Counter Narrative Project) & Darian Aaron of The Reckoning magazine for helping me share KuchuQwanzaa and the legacies of its beautiful founders: the late Marcus R. White & the late Dr. Louis F. Graham.

Marcus was one of the most important folks I knew and ushered me into myself in ways I can’t even explain. Unwavering, unashamed, infectious. Louis was THE example of showing up for yourself and community within the confines of traditional academia. He and Louis were pivotal blocks in the foundation of who I am building to be & the work I wish to do. I hope you'll check out the piece (link in bio!) & join in on @KuchuQwanzaa festivities this year.

ICYMI, I’ve been working in the wake of Louis and Marcus’ transitions to honor their legacies and a first step has been sustaining the life of KuchuQwanzaa (a Black, LGBTQIA+ infusion of Kwanzaa) which they created in 2009 before parting ways some years later.
